■ Product Introduction
The metal-polymer composite waterproofing membrane is produced by extrusion using metal foil and polymer materials as the main raw materials, employing a one‑step lamination process that bonds the metal foil, polymer material and fabric reinforcement layer together. The middle layer is a metal foil (or copper foil), which primarily serves to resist plant root penetration while also providing waterproofing and impermeability functions.
On one or both sides of the metal foil, a graft‑modified polyethylene resin layer is laminated, which mainly provides waterproofing and also possesses some root‑resistant properties. The lower layer of the product is a non‑woven fabric layer, directly bonded to the resin waterproofing layer, allowing it to be adhered to cement‑based substrates using cementitious adhesives. This integrates the product with the structural substrate, more effectively resisting penetration by aggressive plant roots. The upper layer, depending on plant species and engineering requirements, may be laminated with non‑woven fabric or felt of different thicknesses. Its main functions are to protect the waterproofing/root‑resistant material, filter sediment, prevent loss of nutrient soil, drain excess water, and retain a certain amount of water for plant growth.
Installation uses a specially formulated polymer adhesive for root‑resistant waterproofing, which is mixed with cement. The resulting bonding layer provides full‑surface adhesion to the cement substrate, offering dual functions of waterproofing and root‑resistance. Even if the membrane itself is accidentally damaged, the adhesive layer can still perform these functions – a feature not found in other materials, further ensuring project quality.
